KUALA LUMPUR, 10 August 2026 — Police are searching for a suspect following an attack that left a 62-year-old woman seriously injured at Taman Pusat Kepong on Sunday (9 August).

The woman was reportedly working at a number forecasting outlet when the incident occurred. She sustained serious burn injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the victim was allegedly attacked with a substance believed to be petrol before being set alight. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, including the motive behind the attack.

RM5,000 reward offered for information

Kepong Member of Parliament Lim Lip Eng has offered a RM5,000 reward for credible information that directly leads to the arrest of the suspect.

Lim urged members of the public who may have information about the incident to assist the police. He also warned people not to approach or confront anyone they believe may be involved, but instead to pass information to the authorities.

A member of the victim’s family has also appealed to businesses and residents around Taman Pusat Kepong to check whether their CCTV cameras captured anything that could assist the investigation.
