Haze Season Is Back? Malaysia Urges ASEAN to Step Up!

by

Just when we thought we could enjoy clear skies… haze season is making noise again. 👀🌫️

Malaysia is urging ASEAN countries to step up monitoring of high-risk areas and hotspots as dry conditions and wildfires in the region continue to raise concerns.

The situation is particularly worrying in Borneo, where fires in Indonesia have produced heavy smoke that has crossed into Malaysia. Sarawak has already been affected, with authorities closely monitoring air quality and fire hotspots.

Malaysia is calling for stronger regional cooperation, including better monitoring and faster firefighting responses.

Because let’s be honest…

Nobody wants to bring back the annual “Can you smell the haze today?” conversation.

ASEAN, please settle this one before our nasi lemak starts tasting smoky.
